Buy discount lift tickets at LiftTickets.com

Liftopia.com is not the only online discount lift ticket sales outlet for Colorado ski resorts. LiftTickets.com sells discounted ski passes to many ski resorts around the state.

To find current deals go to http://www.lifttickets.com/ and scroll down to the section where is says 'Find Deals by State'. Click on 'Colorado'

Right now the only deals available are at Ski Cooper and SolVista Basin. Probably more dates will open up after the new year.

Most Colorado ski resorts blackout the major holidays for coupons and special discount passes. Regular season passes should be good to go all season.

Looks like they want to sell a few more Colorado Triple Play Passes this ski season. The deadline was listed as December 11, 2011 until yesterday. It's now listed as Dec 18th, 2011.

So if you want a discounted ski pass valid for Aspen/Snowmass, Steamboat, or Winter Park Resort, there's a little more breathing room.

Pass holders get two days of skiing, snowboarding and skibiking at each resort with the pass. Blackout dates are 12.27-12.31.11. 7-day advance purchase is necessary.

Vail discount lift tickets at King Soopers or Safeway

by G. Kunkel

If you are looking for single or multi-day discount lift tickets to Vail or Beaver Creek ski resorts in a Colorado grocery store - you are going to be looking for them a long time.

Vail Resorts does not sell single or multi-day lift tickets to Vail or Beaver Creek in Colorado grocery stores -i.e. King Soopers, Safeway, City Market, and Albertson's. One can buy multi-day lift tickets to Breckenridge or Keystone and use one or two days at Vail or BC depending on the multi-day ticket that is purchased.

On another note, Vail Resorts does not have coupon offers in any coupon book in Colorado. Due to coupon re-selling on the internet, they haven't done that in a number of years.

If you want to save on lift tickets to Vail or Beaver Creek, your best bet is to buy a Epic Pass or the 7-Day Epic Pass.

The passes are still on sale at http://www.snow.com/epic-pass/passes.aspx Buy now or pay full price during the ski season. Look for discount pass sales to stop within the next few weeks.

Buy ski season pass insurance

While you are buying your discounted 2011-12 ski season pass, don't forget to buy season pass insurance offered with the pass. It's an additional $20 but it's well worth it if you can't use the pass due to health reasons during the ski season.

Most ski resorts offer season pass insurance during their annual pass sales period. Don't ignore it. If you get hurt or have health problems - the resorts are not going to reimburse you for your pass unless you purchased pass insurance.

Don't be penny-wise and pound foolish - buy the insurance. Have an avenue to getting some of your money back. Even discount passes cost a chunk of change.

Epic Pass discounts not available for the 2011-12 ski season

Until three years ago a season pass at Vail was $1800.00. Vail then introduced the discounted Epic Pass that allows anyone on the planet with an internet connection or telephone to buy it. In the spring of 2011 the Colorado Pass was changed to the Epic Local's Pass and allows anyone to buy it too.

It spite of the super fantastic prices on the Epic Pass, Epic Local's Pass, and Summit Value Pass, people are still looking for additional discounts on these passes. To put it bluntly - put down the crack pipe and just pay the price. Vail isn't discounting them any further. In fact, the prices on the passes were raised last week by $50 - 60.

Epic Pass discounts that don't exist for the 2011-12 ski season:
Epic Pass student discount - nope, doesn't exist. Check out the Child Epic Pass, Teen Epic Pass, or School of Shred Pass for 5th & 6th Graders.

Epic Pass college student discount - Update: Now available for 2013-14 - Epic Local College Pass. Must be purchased by 9/2/2013  You'll have to check out some of the other Colorado resorts for this such as the Rocky Mountain College Pass Plus or the 2 for 1 Wells Fargo Rocky Mountain Super Pass deal for Colorado and Wyoming college students.

Epic Pass military discount
- nope, doesn't exist. Military can get the Liberty Pass valid for Keystone and A-Basin at a discount. Military discounts are available for daily lift tickets at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, A-Basin, and Keystone. Lift ticket prices fluctuate throughout the ski season and so the price for military is going to change too. Holidays are going to be the most expensive. Active duty military can get discount season passes at Loveland Ski Area and the Patriot Pass for Copper Mountain, and Winter Park Resort. A few other ski joints have military season passes.

Epic Local's Pass discount - nope, doesn't exist right now. Quit looking and go buy your pass before the price goes up more or they stop selling them at a discount. The clock is ticking. If you want a discount on this pass in the future, look for a deal when the weather is warm - such as April - August.

Summit Value Pass discount - nope, it's already discounted. Check out the Child or Teen pass. Go ahead and buy it while it's still for sale. The prices are only rising right now. The 2011-12 ski season has already started in Colorado.

Epic Pass Promo Code - nope, doesn't exist. Expect all Epic Pass sales to disappear in November or early December at the latest. The best place to buy an Epic Pass is directly from Vail Resorts at Snow.com.

Wells Fargo Epic Pass discount
- nope, wrong pass. Wells Fargo only has a deal with the Rocky Mountain Super Pass (Copper Mountain, Winter Park Resort, Steamboat).
Want a free Epic Pass or Epic Local's Pass? Book lodging at select Rock Resorts properties before their current deal ends in mid-November.

The best place to buy all your discount Colorado ski season passes and lift tickets

If you live outside the state of Colorado your options are limited when buying discounted season passes to all the Colorado ski resorts. Some passes like the Epic Pass and Rocky Mountain Super Pass can be purchased online during the pass sales season. Other passes like the Aspen Classic Pass and Telluride discount products must be purchased in-person.

If you can only pick one discount ski season pass sales event to attend in Colorado to purchase your picture passes - save the dates for the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo in Denver, CO. The Expo is held in downtown Denver at the Colorado Convention Center from Friday November 4 - 6, 2011. Book your plane tickets or plan the drive now.

All the Colorado ski resorts will be present with resort information booths and selling their discount picture passes, 4 Packs, 4 Passes, and discount cards. Most picture passes will require all purchasers to be present when buying the pass. You don't have to be a Colorado resident, you just can't buy a pass for someone who isn't present at the sales event. Expect to show some ID during the purchase.

Tickets to the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo are $12 for adults and free for children 12 and under. The admission ticket includes a $10 Liftopia gift card and a one year subscription to Ski or Transworld Snowboarding Magazine.

Save $2 off admission at the door by showing your RTD bus pass or ticket or by printing out the coupon at http://bewisports.com/expos/denver/coupon . Tickets can also be purchased online.

For more information, exhibitor list, and Expo highlights visit http://bewisports.com/expos/denver/

Vail Resorts recognizes the sacrifices the members of the military make everyday. Active duty members can take advantage of military discounts at all of their ski resorts in Colorado.

To get a military discount at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone, present a valid DOD Military ID at the ticket window. The amount of discount will depend upon the current season ticket price. Holidays and peak season have the highest lift ticket prices.

Vail also sells the Liberty Pass to active duty military and their dependents. The adult pass is $195 (13+) and the child pass is $111 (5-13). The Vail Military Liberty Pass is only valid at Keystone and Arapahoe Basin. Vail does not sell a military season pass for Vail, Beaver Creek, or Breckenridge.

The Vail military pass can be purchased at the Keystone Season Pass Office, all REI and Colorado Ski and Golf Stores on the Front Range, Breeze and Boulder Ski Deals, Flatiron Crossing Mall and Park Meadows Shopping Center, US Air Force Academy, Buckley Air Force Base, Peterson Air Force Base, FE Warren Air Force Base, Fort Carson.

Vail Resorts School of Shred

Vail Resorts left Colorado Ski Country USA several years ago and dropped out of its wildly popular Colorado 5th Grade Passport program. That's not to say Vail left Colorado 5th Graders out in the cold.

To replace its involvement in the 5th Grade Passport program, Vail introduced the School of Shred pass. 5th and 6th Graders in Colorado can still get four free days of skiing and snowboarding at Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, A-Basin. First-timers can still get a free ski lesson and equipment rental in January 2012.

To get the Vail School of Shred Pass participants must register by November 6, 2011 at a Colorado Front Range sales pass event, location, or special event. Registration is not available by internet or telephone. Be sure to bring your 5th or 6th Grade report card as proof of eligibility.

Colorado Student Ski Passes

For the most part, student ski passes do not exist in the state of Colorado. Instead, Colorado ski resorts sell ski passes by age. Ski pass age groups include: child, teen, young adult, adult, and senior. Each ski resort individually determines the age brackets for pass sales.

Discount Colorado ski passes are best purchased between April and Labor Day.

The student ski passes that do exist are college student passes, the 5th Grade Passport, and the 6th Grade Passport. If you need a college student pass, it's best to purchase it in September.

5th and 6th Grade Passports applications are usually available from Colorado Ski Country USA in September. The application is free and you don't have to be a resident of Colorado. Applications must be done online and are not available for pickup. Here's how to apply.

Some of the best ski pass deals in Colorado for children, teens, and young adults (ages 6-22) include Loveland Ski Area, the Teen Summit Value Pass, the Rocky Mountain Super Pass Plus College Pass, and the Aspen Classic College & Child/Youth Passes.

Most Colorado ski resorts sell early season discount ski season passes and discount college passes to full time registered four year college students. Check for eligibility and pass sale deadlines.

Time to Buy your Epic Pass, Epic 7 Day Pass, Epic Local Pass, Summit Value Pass

If you want the real lift ticket deal to a Vail Resorts ski resort, now is the time to buy. These will probably be offered through sometime in November but the price is going to start rising very soon. When Colorado ski pass prices start rising is a mystery we'd all love to know.

The Epic Pass allows unlimited ski and riding (but not skibiking) at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin, Heavenly, and Northstar-at-Tahoe. The adult pass (19-64) is currently $649.

The Epic 7 Day Pass (ages 13+) is currently $499 and is good for 7 days at the same ski resorts as the Epic Pass.

The Epic Local Pass is a great value at $499 but do not expect to use it during any holiday period. It has extensive restrictions and is blacked out from useage during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, President's Weekend, and Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend.

The Adult Summit Value Pass offers unlimited access to Keystone and A-Basin with restricted access to Breckenridge. It is not valid at Breck during any holiday period. The pass is only $409 for adults.

If you are looking for a student ski pass to Vail - keep looking. You won't find one. Vail Resorts does offer Teen and Child Passes.

Explore the details for all of Vail Resorts ski season passes at http://www.snow.com/planavacation/season-pass-explorer.aspx

All the passes are available for purchase online - even first time buyers.

Skibiking is only allowed at Keystone and Arapahoe Basin. Adaptive skibikers can ride with a Vail Resorts issued permit.

It's Labor Day Weekend - The traditional time to buy or renew your Colorado ski season pass

Labor Day Weekend is when Colorado ski resorts put the big push on to sell season passes for the upcoming ski season. Nothing has changed for the 2011-12 ski season.

Powder Daze has already started and the sale of Colorado Ski Country USA Gems Cards started August 17th. The real madness begins Labor Day Weekend.

Ski passes, 4-packs, and 4 passes will all be on sale. They will be offered at the best prices for the next 2 weeks and then the prices generally start to rise. Some products are no longer offered for sale after October - especially the 4 passes to Copper Mountain and Winter Park.

There are new products from Vail Resorts with the standard lineup. The Colorado Pass has been dumped and is now the Epic Local's Pass. I think you can buy it online too. It's heavily blacked out during holiday periods so don't buy it if you plan to use it during a national holiday.

Anyway, Sniagrab, Powder Daze, and Ski Rex all start Labor Day Weekend. If you are going to Taste of Colorado in downtown Denver, just walk down to Sniagrab.

Time to buy your discounted pass to Steamboat Ski Resort

Finding a discounted lift ticket to Steamboat Ski Resort is hard to find mainly due to the fact that Steamboat rarely issues them. Buying lift tickets when booking lodgings really is the best way to get cheaper lift tickets.

Since Steamboat is so far from the Front Range ski market competition, it does not follow the deeply discounted ski pass trend found there. It does not sell lift tickets in any Colorado grocery store or other retail outlet.

Those planning on a six day stay at Steamboat are best advised to purchase the Rocky Mountain Super Pass Plus when it goes on sale in mid-April. During the following 2-3 week period, the Super Pass Plus can usually be purchased at the price of the Rocky Mountain Super Pass. After 3 weeks, the price of the pass rises.

The Rocky Mountain Super Pass Plus, the Rocky Mountain Super Pass, and limited-time special passes to Steamboat and Winter Park Resort can be renewed at skicolorado.com The Rocky Mountain Super Pass offers unlimited skiing at Copper Mountain Resort and Winter Park Resort. The Super Pass Plus offers six unrestricted days at Steamboat.

Those waiting until ski season to purchase lift tickets can expect to pay a premium for lift tickets to Steamboat. There are a few exceptions. The exceptions are found during non-peak season and non-holiday periods.

Other ideas for finding discount lift tickets can be found in this article at Helium.com - How to get discount ski lift tickets to Steamboat Ski Resort
