Buy ski season pass insurance

While you are buying your discounted 2011-12 ski season pass, don't forget to buy season pass insurance offered with the pass. It's an additional $20 but it's well worth it if you can't use the pass due to health reasons during the ski season.

Most ski resorts offer season pass insurance during their annual pass sales period. Don't ignore it. If you get hurt or have health problems - the resorts are not going to reimburse you for your pass unless you purchased pass insurance.

Don't be penny-wise and pound foolish - buy the insurance. Have an avenue to getting some of your money back. Even discount passes cost a chunk of change.

Epic Pass discounts not available for the 2011-12 ski season

Until three years ago a season pass at Vail was $1800.00. Vail then introduced the discounted Epic Pass that allows anyone on the planet with an internet connection or telephone to buy it. In the spring of 2011 the Colorado Pass was changed to the Epic Local's Pass and allows anyone to buy it too.

It spite of the super fantastic prices on the Epic Pass, Epic Local's Pass, and Summit Value Pass, people are still looking for additional discounts on these passes. To put it bluntly - put down the crack pipe and just pay the price. Vail isn't discounting them any further. In fact, the prices on the passes were raised last week by $50 - 60.

Epic Pass discounts that don't exist for the 2011-12 ski season:
Epic Pass student discount - nope, doesn't exist. Check out the Child Epic Pass, Teen Epic Pass, or School of Shred Pass for 5th & 6th Graders.

Epic Pass college student discount - Update: Now available for 2013-14 - Epic Local College Pass. Must be purchased by 9/2/2013  You'll have to check out some of the other Colorado resorts for this such as the Rocky Mountain College Pass Plus or the 2 for 1 Wells Fargo Rocky Mountain Super Pass deal for Colorado and Wyoming college students.

Epic Pass military discount
- nope, doesn't exist. Military can get the Liberty Pass valid for Keystone and A-Basin at a discount. Military discounts are available for daily lift tickets at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, A-Basin, and Keystone. Lift ticket prices fluctuate throughout the ski season and so the price for military is going to change too. Holidays are going to be the most expensive. Active duty military can get discount season passes at Loveland Ski Area and the Patriot Pass for Copper Mountain, and Winter Park Resort. A few other ski joints have military season passes.

Epic Local's Pass discount - nope, doesn't exist right now. Quit looking and go buy your pass before the price goes up more or they stop selling them at a discount. The clock is ticking. If you want a discount on this pass in the future, look for a deal when the weather is warm - such as April - August.

Summit Value Pass discount - nope, it's already discounted. Check out the Child or Teen pass. Go ahead and buy it while it's still for sale. The prices are only rising right now. The 2011-12 ski season has already started in Colorado.

Epic Pass Promo Code - nope, doesn't exist. Expect all Epic Pass sales to disappear in November or early December at the latest. The best place to buy an Epic Pass is directly from Vail Resorts at Snow.com.

Wells Fargo Epic Pass discount
- nope, wrong pass. Wells Fargo only has a deal with the Rocky Mountain Super Pass (Copper Mountain, Winter Park Resort, Steamboat).
Want a free Epic Pass or Epic Local's Pass? Book lodging at select Rock Resorts properties before their current deal ends in mid-November.

The best place to buy all your discount Colorado ski season passes and lift tickets

If you live outside the state of Colorado your options are limited when buying discounted season passes to all the Colorado ski resorts. Some passes like the Epic Pass and Rocky Mountain Super Pass can be purchased online during the pass sales season. Other passes like the Aspen Classic Pass and Telluride discount products must be purchased in-person.

If you can only pick one discount ski season pass sales event to attend in Colorado to purchase your picture passes - save the dates for the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo in Denver, CO. The Expo is held in downtown Denver at the Colorado Convention Center from Friday November 4 - 6, 2011. Book your plane tickets or plan the drive now.

All the Colorado ski resorts will be present with resort information booths and selling their discount picture passes, 4 Packs, 4 Passes, and discount cards. Most picture passes will require all purchasers to be present when buying the pass. You don't have to be a Colorado resident, you just can't buy a pass for someone who isn't present at the sales event. Expect to show some ID during the purchase.

Tickets to the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo are $12 for adults and free for children 12 and under. The admission ticket includes a $10 Liftopia gift card and a one year subscription to Ski or Transworld Snowboarding Magazine.

Save $2 off admission at the door by showing your RTD bus pass or ticket or by printing out the coupon at http://bewisports.com/expos/denver/coupon . Tickets can also be purchased online.

For more information, exhibitor list, and Expo highlights visit http://bewisports.com/expos/denver/

Vail Military Ski Season Pass

Vail Resorts recognizes the sacrifices the members of the military make everyday. Active duty members can take advantage of military discounts at all of their ski resorts in Colorado.

To get a military discount at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone, present a valid DOD Military ID at the ticket window. The amount of discount will depend upon the current season ticket price. Holidays and peak season have the highest lift ticket prices.

The Vail Military Liberty Pass is only valid at Keystone and Arapahoe Basin. Vail does not sell a military season pass for Vail, Beaver Creek, or Breckenridge.

The Vail military pass can be purchased at the Keystone Season Pass Office, all REI and Colorado Ski and Golf Stores on the Front Range, Breeze and Boulder Ski Deals, Flatiron Crossing Mall and Park Meadows Shopping Center, US Air Force Academy, Buckley Air Force Base, Peterson Air Force Base, FE Warren Air Force Base, Fort Carson.

Vail Resorts School of Shred

Vail Resorts left Colorado Ski Country USA several years ago and dropped out of its wildly popular Colorado 5th Grade Passport program. That's not to say Vail left Colorado 5th Graders out in the cold.

To replace its involvement in the 5th Grade Passport program, Vail introduced the School of Shred pass. 5th and 6th Graders in Colorado can still get four free days of skiing and snowboarding at Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, A-Basin. First-timers can still get a free ski lesson and equipment rental in January 2012.

To get the Vail School of Shred Pass participants must register by November 6, 2011 at a Colorado Front Range sales pass event, location, or special event. Registration is not available by internet or telephone. Be sure to bring your 5th or 6th Grade report card as proof of eligibility.

For more details check out the Vail Resorts 5th & 6th Grade School of Shred Program website at http://www.snow.com/epic-pass/info/schoolofshred.aspx
