There are lots of myths and rumors about ski passes in Colorado. I just ran across a really funny one today.
The rumor? College students in Colorado get free ski passes. This is absolutely not true. No Colorado ski resort gives away ski passes to college students.
This may have been sparked by the Wells Fargo Buy One Get One Ski Pass Free deal available only to college students going to colleges in Wyoming or Colorado. Since the Wells Fargo ski pass deal ended in December, someone is smoking some wacky weed.
5th Grade students can still apply for the free 5th Grade Passport. It's good for 3 days of skiing or snowboarding at 21 select Colorado ski resorts. 6th Grade Passports are still available for $99. Application deadline for both is January 31, 2012. You don't have to be a Colorado resident to apply.
Applications for Vail Resorts School of Shred Pass for 5th and 6th Graders stopped being accepted November 7, 2011. They must be applied for in-person along Colorado's Front Range.
Another Colorado ski pass rumor bites the dust. No free ski passes for Colorado college or university students.
