The 2011 -12 Colorado ski season has ended

Arapahoe Basin turned off its chair lifts on Sunday April 6, 2012 putting an end to skiing, snowboarding, and skbiking for the 2011-12 ski season in Colorado.  In a Denver Post blog article today, it was officially declared the worst ski season in Colorado in 20 years.

Now that the corner has been turned, things can only get better!  Next season has to be better than this one.

The season has ended but the pass sales for the 2012 - 2013 ski season continue for many ski resorts.  While many have ended their spring special deals on their passes, a few have extended them.

Look for extended specials on the Rocky Mountain Super Pass, Echo Mountain, Monarch Mountain, and Sunlight Mountain Resort.

As the temperatures heat up for the summer most people will forget about ski passes until Labor Day Weekend.  Fall ski pass sales will then start up.  Most of these deals won't be as good as the spring specials.

If you have a 2011 -12 ski pass, don't forget to use it this summer at resorts with summer programs.  Many offer free chairlift rides and summer activities.  Call or check the website of your pass to see if you can take advantage of any food or lodging deals too.
