2013 SNIAGRAB starts this Saturday

by G. Kunkel

The original fall ski pass sale starts this Saturday August 31. 2013 at Sports Authority in Denver, Colorado.   One  can still come downtown and buy a pass or stay home and purchase it online.   A few ski areas will be offering $10 off products for in-person pass purchases or other lift ticket specials.

Ski areas with booths will include Loveland Ski Area, Vail Resorts  (Breckenridge, Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone),  Steamboat, Arapahoe Basin, Eldora Mountain Resort, Copper Mountain, Winter Park Resort, Monarch Mountain, and Ski Granby Ranch.  Play Loveland Lotto and you may win free lift tickets or cool gear.

Before entering the store and start shopping, grab a free bottle of water in the tubs outside.  It's always hot inside and outside the store.   An employee may hand you a free t-shirt too.

Shoppers can camp outside in line Friday night and then snag some of the early bird specials on gear and clothing from previous seasons in the morning.   It's a great time to load up on those all important snowboard socks.  Try to find the Sports Authority brand to get the best deal.

There are three floors in the Sportscastle loaded with gear.   Be sure to check every nook and cranny.   You'll never know what you'll stumble across - even an Olympic athlete or two signing posters.

The biggest challenge to Sniagrab is parking.  Expect to park several blocks away and then walk to the store.  The area between Broadway and Speer is going to be your best bet.

Time to think snow.  And don't forget to tip your instructor if you have a great lesson this season.
