SNIAGRAB is dead

by G. Kunkel

With the bankruptcy of Sports Authority came the death of SNIAGRAB in 2016.  No more 'Bargains Spelled Backwards'.   So, if you were looking to score cheap season passes there this past Labor Day Weekend - you lose.

There were plenty of discounted ski passes for sale but one had to travel to the south metro area to score them at Ski Rex, or Snow Daze near Southwest Plaza.

The really big bonuses are gone now but discounted season passes and lift tickets can still be had online or at area events.   There is a Epic Pass sales desk set up in Boulder Ski Deals.   Just walk up and get your pass.

Almost every resort is selling a discount product right now.   Buy now and you'll get it.   Wait till November and one probably will not get a great discount or at all.

Colorado Ski Country USA is selling 5th Grade Passports and are generally meant for Colorado students. The application is available online.   They cannot be picked up or rush shipped.

Vail Resorts has the Epic Schoolkids Pass for either Colorado or Utah.  One must register in-person and child must be present to purchase this pass.   This pass is meant for resident Colorado or Utah schoolchildren attending local schools.  The deadline to apply is October 9th, 2016.

Happy hunting for your favorite ski pass.

February 25 2016 BOGO Adult Lift Ticket with I Ski with KBCO

by G. Kunkel

Today is a BOGO lift ticket deal day for Winter Park Resort with 'I Ski With KBCO'.

Just go to the KBCO website and print out the coupon.  Then bring it and another adult to a WP lift ticket window.

Both tickets must be used on the same day.   It can not be combined with any other discount.

As lift tickets are over $120 at the lift ticket windows - this is an excellent price to pay.

Winter Park is no longer on the gas station BOGO offers,  take advantage of it when you can. Not too many deals except for season pass holders or 4 Pass holders.

I Ski With KBCO at Winter Park Resort
One can still buy Winter Park Resort lift tickets at the grocery store but this radio station discount gets one a better price.

2016 Colorado Costco ski lift tickets

by G. Kunkel

Only Crested Butte and Monarch ski lift tickets can be purchased in Costco as of February 2016.  No other ski resort offer was observed in the Thornton, Colorado location.

As usual, Vail never offers its lift tickets in Costco.   Same goes for Aspen/Snowmass, Telluride, Steamboat, or any other premium destination ski resort.   If you want a budget vacation, these areas are not for you.

Crested Butte  Deal in Costco

Crested Butte Costco deal
One can purchase 2 of 3 consecutive day adult lift tickets for $99.99 for one person.  Blackout days are March 7-8, and March 14-18, 2016.  The deal is non-transferable.  Valid till April 3, 2016.

It looks like the restrictions are getting tighter for their Costco deal.

Note:  While Crested Butte permits skibikes, they are not allowed on any black slopes.  So in my opinion - what's the point of going to Crested Butte.   Just not worth it.   I like moguls, steeps, and the terrain park.

Monarch Mountain Deal in Costco

Monarch Mountain Costco deal
One can purchase 3 adult lift tickets for $124.99 with the voucher.  All the blackout dates have passed at this point.  Valid till April 10, 2016.

Note: Monarch only allows skiing and snowboarding.  Skibikes are not permitted.

These vouchers can be purchased at area Front Range Costco's.   They do not contain lift tickets - take the cardboard insert to the register and purchase a voucher.

$25 Lift ticket to Loveland Ski Area February 11, 2016

by G. Kunkel

Loveland is having Hooky Day tomorrow.   I think everyone already had one this week for the Broncos victory parade.

Getting your coupon is mucho easy.  One just needs a computer and a printer.

Go to The Party 95.7 website and print out the coupon.  Then bring it to the ticket window along with $25.

If one can not make it Thursday, print it out anyway.  It allows one to BOGO adult lift ticket Feb 16-26.

One cannot try to just display this on their smartphone.  One MUST print out the coupon.

There is a limit of one coupon per visitor.  The coupon cannot be combined with any other offer.

Crowds and traffic are reduced during the weekday.  No need to fight the car wreck or the people driving with bald tires.

Colorado is now enforcing the chain laws for non-commercial vehicles.  If you get caught violating it, I hope one is rich.

Free Winter Park Resort Coupons

by G. Kunkel

Winter Park Resort gives employees a few vouchers each ski season to its employees to give to friends and family.   I always have these left over at the end of the season and toss them in the recycle bin.

I have two types of coupons or vouchers to give away - for free.   I can't sell them or I get fired.  The tubing hill voucher has personal information on it so, I'm not posting a picture of them.

Winter Park Resort Tubing Hill Voucher

The first voucher allows one to buy a Tubing Hill ticket for $5.  The normal walk-up rate is $21-23/hour.  So that is a significant savings.   There are no blackout dates and are fully transferable.

The vouchers are free but do need you to pay for postage and the envelope.

Order them at my Square Store so I can collect the postage and the mailing address you want it sent to.  I only have three of these left.  USA addresses only.

$20 Off Winter Park Ski + Ride School Lessons

The second coupon is for $20 off walk-up rates on Winter Park Ski + Ride School products.  It excludes First Tracks, Last Tracks, Add-on Private, and the 2 Hour Special.  It cannot be combined with any other discount.

It's valid for kids and adults lessons.

If one has a Winter Park season pass or picture pass product, you'll get a better discount using it rather than this coupon.

I have a ton of these.  Just tell me how many you need.  They are fully transferable with no blackout dates.

Order them at my Square Store.  The $1 covers postage, envelope, and credit card processing fee.  USA addresses only.

Coupons for Winter Park are becoming harder and harder to find.   Mainly because the resort is offering significantly fewer the past few seasons.   They don't offer gas station BOGO anymore.  There is the occasional I Ski with KBCO deal.

If one wants a discount lift ticket to Winter Park,  the cheapest option is to buy a pass product during the North American summer.   Otherwise, its the grocery store, Lifttopia, or GetSkiTickets.  There are some independent outlets along I-70 as well.

Steamboat Olympian Pass 2016 is still for sale

If you are looking for a lift ticket deal for Steamboat Ski Area right now, typically you've waited too late.  Lucky for you the Olympian Pass is still for sale.

Like all ski deals for Steamboat, this can only be purchased online at the Steamboat Ski Resort website or by calling Central Reservations.   Steamboat does not sell its lift tickets in grocery stores.

The Olympian Pass is a three day pass that is valid any three days 1/18/16 - 2/11/16.  None of the days need to be consecutive.  Take a break and hit the hot springs at Strawberry Park or go shopping downtown.

This ski deal must be purchased at leasst 48 hours before one plans to use it.  So, no last minute purchases allowed.

There is a limit of one pass per person.   Sorry, one cannot buy up a stock of these.

The pass is non-transferable.  That means if you can't use it, one cannot let someone else use it.   There are no refunds either.   Do not buy this pass if you plan on trying to resell it.

This is a picture pass so one will need to pick it up at the ticket office in Gondola Square to get your picture taken and get the pass printed out.

The pass is only $259 at the moment.   That's roughly $86/day for a lift ticket. Who says one cannot find a bargain for Steamboat.

Buy online here or call Central Reservations at 1-877-783-2628

2016 Colorado Gas Stations Coupons

The BOGO Adult lift ticket deal is back at Colorado Shell gas stations for the remainder of the 2015-16 ski season.  Traditionally they don't appear until the beginning of January.

There are four participating ski resorts in Colorado this season.  Copper Mountain, Crested Butte, Monarch, and Powderhorn.

How to get the voucher

To get and redeem the voucher is the same as always.

How to get gas station lift ticket coupon
There are many locations in the Denver area and along Interstate 70 to pick up these vouchers.  So if you fly into Denver and get a rental car, one is sure to drive by a station on the way to the mountains.

These vouchers are meant for adult lift tickets as they are the most expensive.  One can however use them for a kid's lift ticket.  Just ask at the lift ticket window.

The vouches are valid till the end of the ski season.

Blackout Dates:

Blackout dates for ski voucher
Of course there are blackout dates.  Don't go during a holiday period or Spring Break and you will be fine.

Have fun and remember CDOT is now enforcing the traction law.  Don't head into the mountains with bald tires or without 4WD.  If found to be deficient, it will cost $$$.

And some sound advice from CDOT snowplow drivers.
